Cut corner to corner

Cut 4 Red – 2 7/8”x 2 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Cut 8 Yellow – 2½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Pink 4 ½” x 2 ½”

 Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 8 Green – 1 ½”x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Pink – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Blue – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Breaking Down How to piece this quilt block

 Cut 2 Blue – 4 7/8” x 4 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Cut 4 Red – 2 7/8”x 2 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Cut 4 Yellow – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Sew as shown – do 4 times

Cut 4 Yellow – 2½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Pink 4 ½” x 2 ½”

 Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut corner to corner

Cut 8 Green – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew as shown – do 4 times

 

Cut 2 Pink – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Cut 2 Blue – 2 ½”x 2 ½”

Sew a 4-patch as shown

Do rows together as shown – 2 times

 Do center row

Sew rows into block

Simple Square and Triangle Quilt Block Pattern - The Quilt Ladies

Making these couple of simple quilt blocks, using gray and yellow. The first quilt block is HERE for you,

Today's quilt block is using squares and triangle and has a finished size of six inches by six inches.

Make Triangles - How to Make Triangles

Cut 1 Gray – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Yellow – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Piece as shown

Sew rows and then rows into blocks

Simple Quilt Block to Make -

One of the best way to become a better quilt maker is to make quilt blocks.  This quilt block has a lot of what you need to know and it's all here in ONE quilt block.

There are many ways to make quilt block triangles,
here is how I do them.
How I do squares for my quilt blocks.

Finished Quilt Block Size 6" x 6"

Cut 2 Gray – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Cut 2 Dark .Gray – 2 7/8”x 2 7/8”

Make Triangles –corners

Cut 2 Yellow – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Cut 2 Gray – 1 7/8” x 1 7/8”

Make Triangles -center

Cut 4 Yellow – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Cut 4 Lt. Gray – 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Sew yellow to lt. gray

Sew as shown

Sew Rows together and rows into block

Log Cabin, Four Patch and Triangles Make a Quilt Block

Blue is kind of my color right now.
I change all the time but I  think blue and white has a traditional feel, then using modern fabrics a bit of a new look.
This quilt block you will use four-patch blocks and triangles

Cut 4 Blue – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Cut 4 White – 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
Make Triangles

Cut 1 Blue – 2 ½” x 2 ½”
Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 2 ½”
Sew to the Top
Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 3 ½”
Sew to the Right Side
Cut 1 White – 1 ½” x 3 ½”
Sew to the Bottom
Cut 1 White – 1 ½”x 4 ½”
Sew to the Left Side

Sew as shown for center

Star Quilt Pattern for You to Make

This is one of those quilt blocks that just says...Wonderful. it's all triangles
And can be done with scraps or as shown, colors placed. The finished quilt block is eight inches by eight inches. I machine pieced and do the quilt pattern in units and rows as shown below.

Star Quilt Pattern Block in Blue and White

When you take down time doing what is special to you, you figure out pretty quick just how wonderful life is. The craziness of life can become too much sometimes, but my moments in my little sewing room....PERFECT.
So, my perfect today is an eight by eight inch quilt block, all patterns of blue and white fabrics. I cut little 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" squares and played with their placement, have fun moving color around.  Finished quilt block is eight inches by eight inches. See my Books in Print

Cut 16 Blue – 1 ½” x 1 ½”
