Happy Thanksgiving
This time of the year for me is about remembering and when I remember it always seems to include food. I grow up in a family that was always in the kitchen and around the table. My Grandma C. cooked her entire life for a living and for love,
This is One of my favorites:
Grandma's Fried Apples
Cut and core 5-6 of the firmest apples you can find.
These are red delicious.
In a pan add 2 big Tablespoons
of butter or margarine, let it melt a bit add apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon ground nutmeg.
I measure nothing in this recipe, just add !
Stir and let the apples get soft and cook down.
15-20 minutes over a medium heat.
I like them just like this, but over ice cream, white cake, french toast
or pancakes are wonderful too !
Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving
From my table to yours
